Digicell International is proud to announce the release of Akheeki (اکھِکی), a deeply felt Burushaski song written by the acclaimed poet Sardar Ali Khamosh. With its meditative lyrics drawn from the rich oral tradition of the Burusho people, the song arrives as a gift to listeners across the globe on the occasion of Eid and Nowruz — March 21, 2026.
The title Akheeki (اکھِکی) — meaning “come” or “come and see” — is both an invitation and a reflection. Through its layered poetry, the song quietly asks the listener to look beyond surface appearances, to seek meaning in what is lost, and to remember what the noise of the world causes us to forget.
“There are grapes, but no wine to awaken the spirit. There are seeds in abundance, yet no oil to give them flame.” — from the lyrics of Akheeki
Vocals and composition are by Saa Gari, whose voice carries the weight and warmth of the song’s message with remarkable grace. The meditative Rubab pieces that form the song’s soul are performed by Adnan Qasim Dikhan — a master of the instrument whose playing breathes life into every verse.
The visuals and video editing are crafted by Basharat Hussain of FAST Films and Video Production, bringing the song’s imagery to life with quiet beauty. The audio has been polished to perfection with mix and mastering by Rafi Studio.

eNGLISH TRANSLATION:
How joyful they seem, the people of this place,
as if their hearts have learned a secret of light.
Yet do not trust the eyes alone…,
come, and see with the soul for a single day.
Where are you going?
And why do you leave?
There is no one here,
who asks the questions that matter.
I have lost my ring,
perhaps not of gold, but of meaning.
I searched and searched through the dust of days, yet it didn’t return to me…,
come, perhaps your hands will find what mine could not.
There are grapes, but no wine to awaken the spirit.
There are seeds in abundance, yet no oil to give them flame.
Like me, these people wander,
full in form, yet empty within.
And there is one, a mad wanderer,
as if love has undone him gently.
He says, “I am a king, a leader of men,”
yet he arrived only days ago…
perhaps he has remembered something
the rest of us have forgotten.
